why was Burton's face so brown?

bad makeup or too much sun.

Remember there was a clause in his contract to have his liver buried separately, with honors. Perhaps it was his failing health.

reply

one big liver spot.

reply

Lmao

Burton in 1963 (Cleopatra) still looked pretty good. Two years later (The Spy Who Came In From The Cold), you could tell the booze was taking its toll.

reply

Your quite right. I watched Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe and was shocked that he was around 40 at the time of filming. I don’t know how he made it through The Wild Geese in 1978.

reply

More or less more booze.

reply

He was in pretty bad shape during filming.

reply

Yep, he defiantly knew alcohol was killing him but couldn’t quit for long.

reply

Still it didn't stop his great acting, even up to his final film 1984!

reply

Oh, I certainly agree.
