why hasnt this been on tv for years

i used to watch this at least every year during the summer holidays when i was little, now it is never on, the tv companies shoudl put on the old kids films too not just the new special effects ones...

I know u can be underwhelmed,and u can be overwhelmed,but can u ever just be,like,whelmed?

I just bought a copy from play.com for a bargin £4.49. Come to think of it its probably been at least 5 years since it was last shown on TV

I haven't seen it on tv in ages. I convinced a local video store to order a copy about 5 years ago and we rented it, and I just saw it on dvd on ebay for only $8! Ebay is definitely the place to check for old movies that you haven't seen in awhile. I've found some nearly 30 year old films that most people haven't heard of on there!

I too would like to see it again. I have only seen the movie once, on the cinema when I was about ten years old.

But seriously. He's VERY camp and it's not very P.C. to poke such fun at gayness. That seahorse is at the butt of a lot of gay jokes.

Simmy - get a life, you PC moron.

It's on now!

Having watched it I can tell why it hasn't been on TV for years, it's a real showcase in lazy animation and archetypical character design, an obvious desire to match the magic of Disney yet none of the talent. The artwork was repellent, and the animation was terribly sloppy, I had to keep watching just to see how bad it all got!

The seahorse is the best thing about it! I don't think he's the butt of any jokes.

If anyone can watch this film and not fall in love with it, then they just lack any imagination! I adored this film as child and me and my sister have never forgotten it. I would love to see it again as it has been years, but I still remember every character and every song and each feeling that movie used to stir in me.

Children do not and should not need immaculate state of the art animation to enjoy and see the beauty in a great movie! Children have the best immaginations and this film targets immagination! Children don't care if a character may seem gay, they just enjoy the silliness in the many creatures that are brought to life!

Me and my sister used to love the music that the waterbabies sang and just found this film magical. Definately a favourite of all time! xx

This and Dot and the Kangaroo were two of my favorite weekend afternoon type movies when I was an elementary schooler.
