I saw Warlords of Atlantis on it's first UK cinema release in 1978 as part of a double bill. Warlords of Atlantis was the second film in the double bill which I saw at the ABC Cinema, Belgrave Gate, Leicester in the Summer of 1978. I can't remember what the first film was, it wasn't a fantasy film, I think it was a car race film, anyone remember what the other film was?

shareThere were two car films, cousins of one another, from the mid-to-late 70s starring David Carradine: Death Race 2000 (1975) and Cannonball (1976), the former being the more entertaining of the two. There are better car films from earlier in the 70s, like Two Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point, Gone In 60 Seconds, and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, but it seems more likely that the schlocky Carradine films (Roger Corman productions) would be paired with Warlords of Atlantis.
