A real classic

Does any one else agree that the 70s and 80s flicks from then, warlords the land that time forgot,At the Earth's Core films like that seem far better then most of todays crappy cgi flash bang films.
I just saw superman returns, good film, but no where near as good as the reeves films, maybe its me being old,but they just seem more interesting and fun, even with the rubbish monsters and fairly bad and camp acting.
Dont get me wrong some modern films are fun i loved the LOTR films, they made the cgi for the most part work well, and still had good acting and lots of fun parts, but most modern films just throw tons of cgi at you, that probaly get the kids loving them, but for us older guys get boring quickly.
Doug mcClure was also really good in these films,a real macho man,who fights the bad guys get the girls and saves the world, not like the pretty boys we have to put up with today.

I agree and to me part of the appeal is the rubber monsters its silly fun so the rubber monsters add to the fun.

I think Doug McClure makes a more mature hero in this type of film. I've seen him in a similar one from the 1970s just lately. Probably made by the same people. I do prefer to watch this genre from films made in the 1970s.
