Lisa Lucas

In addition to Kelly Bishop, I also think Lisa Lucas should have received a nomination for her performance as Patti, Erica's daughter...a poignant and vividly real performance that never goes over the top. You never catch Lucas "acting" in this film, which is what makes her performance so brilliant.

reply

yeah, i agree with ya, i was thinking about how brilliant her performance is.

reply

I agree. I thought she was wonderful when I saw the film in the theatre back in the 70s (and I was living in NY...now I work in the neighborhood right around the corner from where the last scene was shot). I just saw it on Encore today and I thought once again how good Lisa Lucas was in that. Why haven't we seen more of her???

reply

Really? I thought she was really creepy, like death warmed over. She was a little better as Leslie Browne's sister in The Turning Point, but then again, she was acting against Leslie Browne.

God save Donald Duck, vaudeville and variety

Maybe it was her character...but I thought she was kind of Children of the Corn myself. She was far too precocious for 15 year old...inappropriately interested and commenting on her parents sex life..her mother's new boyfriend...it was creepy. The actress was indeed 16 when she played the part..but I thought the no make-up and plain look made her look like a late 20's trying to look 15.

reply

I thought she was alright. Tho she didn't seem like a 15-year-old, to me. More like 19.
