this is said to be a true story!!!!!!

i was wondering if theres anyone out there who knows if this really is a true story, and how it really occured, because based on my experiences with true-story movies, ive always found out eventially that very little was actually true with them, so some of the true stories ive seen SHOULD have actually said INSPIRED by a true story, and not rubbing it in that its all so true!!! so i was hoping someone knew some info on this one, i love this movie!!

Unfortunately, cannibalism is a reality.
It is well known that some tribes would kill any stranger on sight with poisonned arrows.

lets take "Fargo" for example. Thats a movie that claims is a true story and the story is extreemly plausible. Joel and Ethan state in the dvd extras that none of it is real. I like movies that blur the lines of art and reality.

it's great when the producers just make up a blatent lie: it's fun!

I watched a flick where they were biting the heads off whippets!

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

this is a true story. I heard it from my dad's former business partner's cousin's ex-father-in-law. He had it told directly from the source: a friend of a friend's cousin's maid. Believe it when they state it is true for it is!

I mean the ending was a dead giveaway itself:

"Robert Harper and his wife now life on a small farm in Mexico."

lol!!

Yeah, it's real, so real as "The Return Of The Living Dead"
which is another movie based on a true story or it was the way
it was promoted. The trailer even says those are real scenes
of cannibalism, so, you were watching a snuff video.

Sweet! Er, I mean, savory!

I live in the philippines (PH) and I know from the start this is a fake "true story". Never heard of such a tribe. No documented tribe cannibalism here in PH. specially not in the modern times. The PH is an archipelago. As such there are no jungles here stretching hundreds of miles, unlike in central or south america where a tribe like this could theoretically still be undisturbed in this day and age. All the tribes here are already touched or merged with the civilized world even in 1977. The jungles here are used by rebels (communists CPP-NPA) and muslims group (MILF, MNLF, abu sayyaf, BIFF) to hide. These groups would have most likely encountered these tribes if it existed and slaughter them but they don't exist and no such encounter was ever reported.
