Second Sight by David Williams (1977) is the original source material

As I stated in another thread, the book is out of print and very expensive to purchase. It was published in 1977 by David Williams. It is 221 pages total. Be careful if searching for it because another novel used the same title.

I saw the movie when it first came out, bought it a year ago, watched it, found the novel in the public library, and now I plan on watching it again this week while the novel is fresh in my mind.

And to think, I bought my copy of Second Sight at a garage sale for just $2.00! I checked out the used copy prices online and cannot believe anyone would seriously pay $100 for a book. But maybe so.

The book is much better than the movie. It goes into more detail about the problems between Jenny and Thing (can't remember his name) and there is an interesting subplot that the movie leaves out. Something about Pamela's sister eloping with a soldier.

I have been looking at garage sales and thrift stores too. I know you can find a copy online now for about $25.00 in paperback, but I can always take it out of the library again and copy it if I want to read it again someday.

David is the man Jenny falls in love with, and Alan, I think, is her present day husband.

Thanks for the response!

It's been re-issued and is now available on Amazon for about $13.00. I just bought a copy.

Would the other Second Sight book be the one that became the Elizabeth Montgomery story about the blind woman?
PS: thanks for the reissue tip!
