re: People are wanting this types of films? - Contains spoilers

As I go through this website with regards to the films that I have seen over the years. One theme that seems to be constantly reminding us throughtout is our love for a good story, and a well written scene play. This movie has both.

Today, storylines are being thrown to the side for more "special effects features" to be added within modern day films. This I believe to be wrong.

Yes, add special effects where they are needed; and when they are needed. (*The Green Mile comes to mind of a modern film, that added the special. But never overlook the need of good storyline, good screenplay).

I am remember wathcing this way back in 1980, here in England. It wasn't a film that I was planning to watch. I was in my late teens then, and I must have switched this over to ITV television - here in England, during an quoite afternoon. After seeing this I JUST SAT BACK and thought WOW.

Lindsay Wagner, plays her part as an unhappy wife (Jeeny Logan), who finds out her husband was cheating on her - Michael (played by Marc Singer)

To make make up for his cheating ways. He decides to buy an old house once owned by an unknown artist she finds a doorway to the world of the past by wearing an old dress discovered in the attic. This leads her to a romance with the artist as she travels to a time in pre-turn of the century 1900.

Reminds me so much of Somewhere in Time, that starred Christopher Reeve and the beautiful Jane Seymour. But this movie was made before it!

I would love to see this film either played on National Tv (England) again; made available so that we can purchase this on Dvd; OR FINALLY A REMAKE.

Yes, a remake of this Film. I would love to see it - would you?

A truley great film. One that I would love to see again, after all those years.

By the way vote for this movie when you have your say. Its another film that should have higher ratings than it does. Agree?

Please vote for this film when you have addeed your comments.

I am glad that - Patriot Beth wrote her reply on this great film. She was spellbound as I was when If first watched the film, in 1979. I just wish more people us would get the chance to see this. All we are asking is that a film like this could be put on DVD, for us to purchase and keep.

This a really great film. Please if you get the chance to see it. Do so. Its a great story - similiar to "Somewhere in Time". If you liked that you will love this.

Then vote for this film via this website.

I agree that this movie was quite good for a made for TV Movie. I thought that this movie was even better than "somewhere in time" with Christopher Reeve. I just enjoyed the plot more, i guess.:) anyway, I remember seeing this movie for the first time when I was about eleven or twelve years old and being the fact that I was fascinated with history, even at that time, I was enthralled. It was a good movie that should come out on DVD. I wonder how many other people remember these made for tv movies like I do. Again, I give this movie a ten, If I can remember it from way back when then it must of been good :) If anyone does know where I can get a copy, please respond.
Thank you.

Still no Dvd version. Is there a Dvd version available?

Sorry to seem so ungrateful.

No DVD is available at the moment for THE TWO WORLDS OF JENNIE LOGAN or MY SWEET CHARLIE. I have both movies on NTSC-VHS (I noted you live in the UK, where PAL is the standard VHS format).

MY SWEET CHARLIE was released by MCA Home Video in 1986 here in the U.S.

THE TWO WORLDS OF JENNIE LOGAN was released twice on video; once by U.S.A. Home Video in a BIG CARDBOARD box (this is the edition I have) and then by Fries Home Video in 1987 or '88 in a small box.

Don't know if this helps you in any way, but if you can play NTSC tapes and you're desperate to find a copy maybe it might.

The only DVD's of these titles you might find would be bootlegs and would look no better than the VHS tape they came from as neither of these two TV movies have been broadcast in years.

It's my feeling that MY SWEET CHARLIE may never be broadcast again what with the dreaded "N" word being used a number of times. I mean if I were the programming chief I would show it but network execs these days have no spine.

I agree both are great movies no matter that they were made for TV or not.

Unfortunately I have never seen My Sweet Charlie, but my mother has spoken of it to me. It was a movie she really liked.
It's a shame that My Sweet Charlie too will go the way of Song of the South.

Another Patty Duke gem going that way also is "Me, Natalie!"

I have this movie, and it is still just lovely. My late mother was a fiend for taping ANYTHING she liked -- be it old TV shows, movies, interviews... she worked in parts of radio and TV and when she found out how simple VCR's were to run, she went bananas. Anyway, some TV station re-ran this show sometime in the late 80's. We had seen it when it originally ran in 1979, and loved it, so she grabbed it. After my mom died in 1995, I inherited her tape collection. Last year, I bought a tape to DVD burner, and burned off a good portion of her collection -- and mine! to DVD.

If you have an all region DVD player that will play DVD-r's recorded in America, I might be able to help you. I've already burned it for one gal I know!

I loved your post, and I agree with everything you were saying..I do have one correction..Michael Logan, Jennie's husband was played by Alan Feinstein, not Marc Singer..Marc played painter David Reynolds..and it is one of my favorite movies of all time as well...
