The novel references this movie. Bateman says to his friends, "Did anyone see this on HBO last night? It was good." He also uses similar tools in his apartment to kill women.

yes i had no idea about this film (original) until i read it in AP. i had seen the new one, and wondered...but obviously he could'nt have possibly been talking about that one. if it's good enough for bateman, its good enough for me. i shall have to give it a watch.
