the 39 steps

I am new to this computer thing and would like to ask:
Can anyone tell me why the 39 Steps(1978) is not available in the U S A.
Thank you. If at all possible please e-mail replies to [email protected]
the reason I ask for this is I sometimes have a hard time getting back to this board

Thank you
Jim

The title you refer to IS the 1935 version. The 1978 version is called "The Thirty-Nine Steps [spelled not numbers]. I am afraid that British films in the US are not too well received especially if there is a US equivalent. Having said that there are some British films ONLY available in the US, presumably without a US equivalent.

The Thirty-Nine Steps is supposed to be distributed in the US by "The International Picture Show Company." Maybe you ought to take it up with them.

The movie is distributed in the UK by the Rank Film Organization.

I remember seeing the 1978 version on HBO or some other pay channel years ago. My favorite is still the original with Donat and Carroll. I loved their chemistry!
