Here's a collage of the famous dancing Columbia Torch Lady, shown at the start of the film.

I'd love to see a montage of films that manipulated the "torch lady" image to fit the spirit of the film. Two others that come to mind: "Berserk" (where she loses her head) and "The Mouse That Roared" (where she runs to the podium to escape a mouse). I hear "Cat Ballou" has her as a gunslinger.
shareIt wasn't Beserk, it was Joan Crawford's "Strait Jacket" where she is headless.
shareYes, "Strait Jacket," not "Berserk." I stand corrected (and headless). I always get those two films mixed up.

I like them both, not great movies but both are campy fun. In Beserk it is too bad Joan's face didn't look as young as her legs.
shareI like 'em both as well. They're sort of predecessors to the '70s grindhouse films I can't get enough of. Then again, I like "Trog," so obviously, my taste is questionable.
