WHY Jodorowsky, WHY?

Why did he create this thing.
Compared to brilliant masterpieces like El Topo or the Holy Mountain this one is REALLY, REALLY bad. Incredibly bad.
A very little surrealistic but nearly not at all, BORING as hell (and no I'm not American and no I don't like most Hollywood films)... I don't get it.

i also didnt like this one, though i find other jorodowsky creation quite good. this was poorly executed though it looked more like a mainstream movie, which may be needed to raise funds for his other works?

i guess he wanted to try out in classical cinema before he crack out of this world.. or somebody told him into it
