RIP Richard Widmark

General Slater is really dead now!

He looked so heroic roasting bees with a flame thrower until he ends up getting stung to death!

That was sad, Widmark was a great actor in his time . . . but I will always remember him for THE SWARM, and he also played a General in TWILIGHT'S LAST GLEAMING.

But he's now in movie heaven with Irwin Allen and Henry Fonda saying 'what were we thinking?' . . .

Unfortunately, I have not seen the great Richard Widmark in very much, however, I'd prefer to remember doing much more believable, solid acting in another fine ensemble cast in the film Judgment at Nuremberg. He was one of many fine actors in that film, none of whom embarrassed themselves. In fact, most of them, with the exception of Widmark and a few others, bagged Oscar nominations for their performances.
