SPOILER - Light ending for Japanese anime?


Does anyone else think the 'happy' ending was a bit light for Toei animation, especially as the Japanese are usually unsubtle and seem to like lots of sorrow and heartbreak in their stories...

Therefore, I'm shocked that they didn't take advantage of Swan Lake's melancholy ending, where Odette and Siegfried both become spirits and ascend into heaven.

When I first saw this, I half expected the image of the crown and heart on the grass to be the final image...

Sorry that no one replied man, but this board is not very visited. However, I came here to post the exact same thing. I do like this ending much better though :)

I liked the ending too but I agree, it would have been interesting if they had stuck with the original.
