What if Darkseid appeared in Christopher Reeve's Superman universe?

DC is apparently, inserting Darkseid into the Superman '78 comic:

I in my head, imagined that Skeletor as portrayed by Frank Langella in the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie (which like Superman IV, was produced by Cannon), was the closest thing that we got to a live-action Darkseid of that era.

Jack Palance would been perfect. Even Darkseid's appearance was designed off his looks.

FIRE UP THE COMPUTERS...LETS RESSURECT THAT OLD BASTARD.

Might as well resurrect Christopher Reeve before his accident too. Since that's the only way to generate positive interest in Superman now. People need to move on.

Instead Superman faced off against Nuclear Man in this universe, who may have been more powerful than Darkseid

Well unfortunatley the people in charge never would've allowed him to be in the movies. Richard Donner had plans to use Braniac in a 3rd Superman movie but he was fired and we ended up with the lame movie where the villains are just a bunch of typical evil cooperate leaders and it stunk. Superman 4 had Lex Luthor coming back to create an evil clone of Superman. It's pretty obvious the people in charge of the later sequels didn't really think adapting things from comics was a priority. Even if they'd made a Superman 5 I doubt it'd have Darkseid as a villain. Plus, Darkseid is better done over multiple movies anyway.

It's so weird we have not yet seen Brainiac in a live action Superman movie.
