Terrible...even with MST3K

I found this MST3K beast on Google Video, spanned its viewing across two evenings and still only got about halfway through before giving up for good. It's terrible. Even the MST3K commentary is bleak, sparse, and pitiful. Lots of lengthy gaps of silence as compared to other MST3K riffs - there wasn't much to poke fun at. Just a bunch of random characters shuffling around, talking, arguing, not doing much of anything. By the halfway point I realized I had no idea what the first half of the movie was even about because it was just so full of...nothing.

At about the 80 minute mark Joel pretty much gives up and states "I just can't find anything funny anymore". This has to be one of the most generic and bland TV movies ever made.

In MST3k's defense this episode was a late season KTMA entry so they were still in the process of perfecting the movie riffing system. During the KTMA run of the show they didn't really have much of a film selection and didn't pre-screen the films so the riffing was pretty much done live. It worked well with a prime slice of 70's era cheese like SST: Death Flight, but by the end of Superdome this movie was just so predictable and bland that there was nothing much they could do with it.

The greatest parts for me are the David Jansenn riffs.
