After watching this mess (fortunatly with the help of MST3K) I have to wonder who this movie was intended for. It is a mystery movie with very little mystery, a love story with no love, a football movie without any football, well you get the idea.
Movies like this try to make up for their shortcomings by casting a lot of big name actors. The problem is that no matter how many big stars your film has, it will still suck if you don't have a decent story, editing and camera work.
This movie was so bad it seemed that even the guys of MST3K had trouble at times riffing on it. The only possible way to watch this movie all the way to the end is with the MST treatment. I really can't imagine watching this any other way because it really is so slow moving and dull it couldn't hold my attention on it's own.

But it had Bubba Smith in it. The greatest Spartan of them all.

So it had a big name football star in it, SO WHAT!!! This piece of junk also had a bunch of other big name stars in it and it was still awful. No matter how many big names a movie has, it will still be crap if there isn't a decent script. Lets not forget that when a director casts a pro athlete in a movie, they are just there for their name because they almost never are good actors.

Agreed. This film was a hideously tedious talkfest.
