what are girls saying about Tony Blake?

I haven't seen this film for a while but I was always amused by a scene in it. when Tony Blake is at the dinner party to see Alex, the two girls are talking about him in french. ( or at least I think it was French, I can't remember) I do remember that it must have been something to do with a certain part of his anatomy as the camera kept showing close ups and one of the girl's father's reacts to something that they said. Can anybody translate?

Just watching this on UK sat channel Film24. I couldn't catch the first few words they said, because Ollie Tobais was talking to someone. But just before the girls start laughing, the blonde says: "Il est trés gros?" (Is it very big?) to which the brunette says "Comme une cheval!" (Like a horse!).

I knew my GCSE French would come in handy one day.

Thanks for that!Another film mystery solved.

Now that I remember, "Il est trés gros?" can have another meaning: "Is he very big?". French is such a complex language, you have to get things in the right context, or it will be confusing.

Anyway, au revoir et de rien!

"French is such a complex language, you have to get things in the right context, or it will be confusing." Tell me about it! When Marie Antoinette said, "let them eat cake," they thought she said, "off with my head you should take." Messy business, French!

"You can't HANDLE the truth!" Jack Nicholson, "A Few Good Men."

reply

In fact, Marie Antoinette never uttered the sentence "let them eat cake.." It was a lie made up about her to stir up more hatred for her among the French.

"IMdB; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...'
