An SIU Classic

When I was at college at Southern Illinois University a friend of mine bought this movie for 25 cents at a garage sale. Then he and I and a bunch of our buddies got all *beep* up and watched it and nearly pissed our pants laughing at how bad it was.

The horrible dialouge, the shameful acting, the completely idiotic story and the fact that most of the actors look completely stoned out of their minds in most of the scenes; a classic in every sense of the word.

Anybody else have any similar experiences with slithus.

What a spooky coincidence, man. I also attended SIU, and I rented a dusty VHS copy of Slithis from Plaza Records on the strip to celebrate my last day of school in '96. The heavy boozing/pants pissing scenario that ensued was probably remarkably similar to your own.

The copy you bought for a quarter may have possibly been the very same tape I watched. (I mean, how many VHS copies of Slithis do you think there were in Carbondale?)

Like I said---spooky.

Did the copy you had have subtitles in Spanish for some unexplicable reason? Ours did.

In the end, my buddy ended up with the tape and he and I have lost touch (I don't even have his current email address and I live out of the country now) so god knows where it is now but hopefully it's found a home in the hands of someone who can appreciate it as much as we did.

Dude! That was indeed the same copy I watched. That VHS tape has brought a lot of joy to the world, my man.
