Almost the same as drunken master?

The deal with that is that the cast and crew were contracted to these two (possibly more) films by Seasonal films, as was Jackie as he was on a loan from Lo Wei films to make 2 films for seasonal. Therefore almsot everyone who was in SITES also appeared in Drunken Master including Jackie, Hwang Jang Lee, Simon Yuen etc, and both films were directed by Yuen Woo-Ping, because it was in their contracts.

As to why the styles and storylines of the films were so similar, Seasonal made Snake in The Eagle's Shadow and when that proved to be a success made Drunken Master as almost a semi-sequel, ie monopolising on what the made the film successful but taking these elements even further (lazy student, crazy old master, elaborate & showy styles of kung fu), to give audiences more of the same pretty much.
