Why I love this movie

I was 8 years old and I was home from school with chicken pox. I had a fever and totally lethargic. My dad and I snuggled up on the sofa and this movie came on tv and I was mesmerized. I remember holding onto my dad's arm and feeling his soft flannel sleeve on my cheek. I loved every minute of the movie. The colors, the music, everything. I absolutely sobbed during Golden Slumbers and Strawberry Fields Forever.

I'm sure having my dad all to myself and feeling special made it that much better.

Years later I found out that my dad (a true Beatles fan) loathed the movie. Knowing that he sat through it with me, not saying anything negative about it while enjoyed it was one of his greatest gifts to me.

It will always be one of my favorites.

Your story is so much like mine. My house burned down when I was 14; we moved to an apartment and had cable for the first time. This film played so many times on HBO I'm guessing. I watched it every time it was on. I fell in love with it. LOL

I haven't seen it in decades, but the memories of that apartment and watching it will stay with me. The music was just so wonderful.
