It has the best-educated and most passionate crowds of any marathon footrace on the planet, including the transitory Olympic marathons and the quadrennial Fukyouka, Japan, elite marathon footrace. In short, to finish at Boston is to finish with the elite, no matter your time. Woodward’s smile of complete satisfaction, after battling with blisters and Heartbreak Hill, was a complete triumph of acting gift and emotional connection. Bravo, and huzzah. I had to go out and run after I watched this.
