If You Are A Long-Distance Road Runner, Watch This

Woodward’s performance is electrifying. The milieu is spot-on. The Boston Marathon is hands down the most special long-distance road footrace in history. It was created by Harvard students who comprised the first US Olympic Team track team, who traveled to Athens for the modern Olympic Games created by Baron Pierre de Couberton in 1896. The Boston Marathon began in 1897. It has the best-educated and most passionate crowds of any marathon footrace on the planet, including the transitory Olympic marathons and the quadrennial Fukyouka, Japan, elite marathon footrace. In short, to finish at Boston is to finish with the elite, no matter your time. Woodward’s smile of complete satisfaction, after battling with blisters and Heartbreak Hill, was a complete triumph of acting gift and emotional connection. Bravo, and huzzah. I had to go out and run after I watched this.

I'd love to check it out but doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Don't think it ever even got a DVD release, Amazon shows a VHS format but even that is unavailable.
