Missing Scenes explained... kind of

So the Mahoning Drive-In in Pennsylvania just had a Bigfoot movie weekend, where they showed 6 different classic bigfoot movies from the original 35mm reels. One of them was Sasquatch. I have seen the movie countless times off my DVD and before that my VHS copy, so I wasn't expecting anything new here.

The movie began and ended just as I remembered it, but then after the closing credits, they started up another reel and I had no idea what it was. At first, I thought it was just some cool 70's bigfoot filler they were putting on before the next movie. A couple minutes into it though, I see the young indian boy I always heard mention of, and he looked like a young Techka Blackhawk to me, right down to the yellow headband. The helicopter flyover was in there, as well as a scene of 2 people (Indians?) canoeing down a river. Some other stuff as well, but I was in shock of what I was seeing... wish I was a bit more sober too.

This whole thing ran between 5 and 10 minutes long, and had a narrator whose voice seemed awfully familiar... want to say I heard it in a different bigfoot movie from the 70s... maybe even Boggy Creek? About halfway though, they started mentioning the fake expedition crew featured in Sasquatch as if they were a real entity, and at the end they flashed up an address on screen to write for more info.

Write to:
BIGFOOT
some address
city, state

The reel concluded with "... and now enjoy our feature presentation, Sasquatch", so this reel should have been shown first, and not last. So at least we know this still exists... now to find a copy.

The missing SCENE is about 6:30 total and is included as a standalone intro on Code Red's new Blu-ray release (which contains Encounters with the Unknown as another half of a "Horror Double Feature.")

Wow... thanks... now to just find where to buy it. Looks like it sold out pretty quick.

Keep checking. CodeRed is a strange company and sometimes lists things as "sold out" just because the guy who runs it wants to give himself some time to catch up on mailing out orders that have been placed. So if you check back, you may find them for sale again.

Yup... I found some more info on CodeRed and staked out the site... got my order in and within 4 weeks or so, had my BluRay of long lost footage. Twas glorious.
