Scene with US president + Russian premiere's voices

This is the one where they're listening to the taped phone conversation between the US president and the Russian premiere. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that it sounded like they were trying to copy President Bush's voice here? It sounds like its obviously a caracature of his voice, especially when he says " there ter-ists".

Then there was the part where Jigen says "which America do you represent? The beacon of freedom or bastion of blind arrogance."

And then the CIA/secret service guy calls Jigen a "Democrat".

I know the movie was made over 20 years ago, but they just did this dub a short while ago with the same voice cast as the one from the Lupin III episodes they show on Adult Swim. Does anyone think with this dub they were trying to parody current events?

Most likely as they have done it with other things in the TV series. Whats even funnier is that in the 1st English dub (Streamline) made in '95, the president sounds like Bush Senior.

And due to the fact that the other Lupin anime usual feature either US presidents that look somewhat like themselves or differently.

The one in "Napoleon's Dictionary" and "From Russia with love" both feature a George Bush Sr. like president on in "From Russia with Love" his name is President Buch.
