I assume this is a sequel to 'the Legend of Boggy Creek' (1972) I also wonder if this one has anything to do with 'Creature from Black Lake' (1976)

Well Charles B.Pierce who wrote and directed the first movie had nothing to do with "Return to boggy creek". So he wanted to make a sequel of his own.
shareI have often wondered the same thing. The title does say "Return", but I had never heard of the first one. Now, despite the shame that Boggy Creek breeds, I feel compelled to seek out the original "Legend" and the real sequel.

This is a sequel to LEGEND, Pierce had nothing to do with this and didn't like it so he made his own sequel, calling it the official one, and ignoring this movie's existence.

It's a sad commentary when Charles B. "I'll work for peanut butter smeared on a playing card" Pierce won't have anything to do with a flick.
shareTo be clear on this point, the "other sequel", made by Pierce in 1985, is listed at imdb as The Barbaric Beast of Boggy Creek, Part II, alternate title Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues — which is the title used by MST3K.
