Alfred the goat?

Why does Ganon have a goat in his laboratory? It certainly isn't a lab animal. It has a name and everything. Did he just like goats and keep one for a pet?

reply

The possible explenation is that a goat is symbol of Behemot (demon which is considered to be something like Satan).

It was needed by the filmmakers, because a goat is probably the only docile, trainable animal that could do all of the maneuvers that were done by the goat-- head-butting through the door, running down steep stairs, up and over lined-up cars etc.

You could defend it story-wise as something that Victor needed for testing his mind control stuff.

Alfred was the best character in the movie! Next to the truant officer, that is.

It's been over 30 years since I read it, but I'm certain Alfred was a bigger character in Alexander Key's novelization. It was probably explained why Gannon had him but unfortunately, I don't have the book handy.

The novel was based on the script, not the other way around.
