Finally rescued

As a tv movie, it wasn't very good, but it was a great way to bring them back and show them finally get off the island. Especially since the series ended without notice.
I just thought it was funny when they brought them back to Hawaii towing them in the huts. What's the matter, they wouldn't let them ride the boat?

If I remember correctly they were 'rescued' off of the hut raft but then the fake newscast tv announcers pointed out the hut raft was so well-constructed that it was safe to tow them in (at the end of the journey) just to please the thousands of well-wishers who'd shown up to welcome them home.

Nah, they didnt say anything about that, the announcer says, "...rescued in the same huts they lived in all these years..." I just assumed it was easier to quarantine the castaways, since it was unknown where they were and what they encountered. It was also interesting that as heroes they couldnt afford new clothes for the parade in Los Angles.

I found it funny that after 15 yrs. being away, they just picked up thier life, where they left off, from 15 yrs before.

When they all went back out, on the Minnow II, they where ship reck right back on the same island.

Maybe the boat couldn't fit them all. I don't remember how the scene worked. But I wish they showed some of those dirty dogs that visited the island watching this and thinking, "Oh, my God! Now I'm in for it! They're going to certainly track me down now!"

LMAO! I love the last part of your post. Three years of being tricked by all these people that said they were going to rescue them, but didn't and think of the other 12 years that we didn't see. I tell you, I wouldn't trust society!

I reads a rumor that they were considering doing just this.

they could call it "Gilligan's Revenge".

You can nitpick this movie to death. But at least there was some closure. I kind of wish it didn't end the way it did. But, think of all the shows that didn't have closure.

For the record. That girl SUCKED as Ginger Grant. What about the Ginger imposter in one of the episodes? She supposedly would have been acting as Ginger.

And the Skipper mentioned how they missed "mini skirts" by being stranded for 15 years. Who needs min skirts when you had Mary Ann's sexy bottom in short shorts?? She was hot.

Personally, I don’t believe there is any such thing as closure, but anyway…

I had assumed that the reason why they arrived at Hawaii in their huts instead of Coast Guard vessels was because they wanted to bring back what ever they had left of their original possessions. Possibly, the professor brought back some artifacts… The Howell’s had their trunks of money… who knows. The TV series showed them having lots of material belongings.

I also agree with cooljoebay2… Mary Ann and Ginger helped me go through puberty... a little earlier than usual.

I don't know what the deleted post said, but the Ginger imposter was Tina Louise.
