You'd think Mary-Ann would've wanted a family while she still could. She said in the series she wanted to get married and all that. I don't assume she was waiting to get back to this marriage, as it was rather silly.
No kidding. I don’t care what anyone sais… The biological clock ticks even if you are a fictional character. Otherwise, no matter how much we try, we are unable to relate to any of them. By 1978, topics on TV have changed. They already covered sex, rape, infidelity in All in the Family.
I realize that Rescue from Gilligan’s Island wanted to maintain a sense of old comfort and family values, but I think after 15 years, it's time to grow up.
They didn’t have to mention anything about coupling or making love if they didn't want to, but they didn’t have to make a farce out of a natural function either.
Look at Gilligan. He is still shy about crossing the rope over Ginger’s boobies (just think of me as one of the boys?????????????????????) My mind was reeling with more mature ways of handling that scene.
It’s as though the castaways were not just marooned, but in comas for 15 years!
Not EVERY WOMAN wants to have children. In reality if you were stuck on an island like that, you'd probably be more concerned with SURVIVAL than wanting a family, PLUS, what kind of life could you give a baby, raising it on an island like that...I'm sure Mary Ann and Ginger considered THAT, what if the baby got sick?
And who's gonna stick it to her? The Professor wouldn't know where to "find it", Gillian has no idea "what it is", and the Skipper probably "doesn't work".

Plans for possible pregnancies were considered in either Season 4 or 5, but I'm not certain what would've happened then. The Professor is Asexual, at least to me he seems that way most of the time. Other times it's just out of character.
I always wanted them to explore the idea of Gilligan and Mary-Ann ending up together. Sure he's probably naive to sexuallity, but who knows with time. Skipper isn't Asexual or naive, but he downplays sexual interest, and comes off more like a friend than possible lover.
I was thinking safe sex was practiced during the 15 years on the island but seriously, I'm surprised that none of the castaways (except for possibly the Howells) have even thought about having sex. Gilligan may be naive, but he has to be used to Ginger and Mary Ann by now and had to have stuck it to either of them (most likely Ginger). Skipper may be old, but he had been living on a diet consisting mainly of non-processed or barely-processed food (and no alcohol nor drugs) plus getting plenty of exercise, so despite his age and portliness his manhood should still be working. As for the Professor, he may or may not be asexual but even he must get urges that he must satisfy. As for Ginger and Mary Ann, I'm pretty sure they'd get the urge to get it on. This was one of the most unrealistic parts of both the series and the movies.
" Ginger would have no interest in Gilligan, because she surely must have had stuff going on, alternating between Skipper & the Professor. "
Don't really see how professor or skipper would be much a step above Gilligan...
I could see Skipper and Ginger together, mainly b/c Ginger is the type who likes to be pampered and spoiled and Skipper seems to be very chivalrous. BUT I don't see having " a lot going on" would equal not liking Gilligan.
