Movie is so bad ... that it deserves watching

Any fan of bad movies should watch this movie .. the acting is horrible, and thats the high point of the movie .... early predecessor of Arnold's movie "Junior".

Yeah, I'd like to see it if I could find it. I like bad movies that have something stupidly weird about them. I even liked "Modern Problems"!

Yeah I saw this movie because I used to work at a video store, and well, you see a lot of movies good and bad because they're free. I walked away quite confused, yet not disappointed because i expected nothing, and that's what I got.

It's gotta be over 25 years since I saw this, but I do remember some pretty funny lines. Like the one about the religious friend who was hit by hundreds of bullets, but not one bullet hit the Bible he carried in his breast pocket. That was a real memorable joke for me. I also thought the Indira Gandhi character was really funny in a weird way. She starts out being pleased by the pregnant man and then realizes that he poses a threat of overpopulation. That was really goofy humor, almost worthy of John Waters.

Or how about this line by George Gobel: "There's a lot in it for you, son. $50,000 and a half interest in the flower shop at the Arlington National Cemetery." (my rough memory of the line)

I don't know, maybe that's just my warped sense of humor, but I actually think this movie may have been my first exposure to "goofy humor," which I really like. My favorite movie of all time is John Waters' Female Trouble. If you enjoy this, you'd probably enjoy that, too.

Update: I just read the review by Alansmithee04 who says this film is totally unfunny. I guess we just live in different mental spaces. To me, "silly" humor is a kind of relief from the real world. It shows you a collection of characters and events that are basically unreal because they're an extreme exaggeration of what we see in real life, or put elements in unbelievable contexts. For example, in Female Trouble, Taffy reacts to Ida's calling her a "little bi*ch" with: "Is that all the thanks I get? I got you a hook, didn't I?" Ida's hand had been chopped off by Taffy's mother, Dawn (Divine), and somehow Taffy had gone down to the corner drugstore (or who knows where else) and gotten a hook to replace it. Now, of course that doesn't make any sense, but in the context, it's hilarious to me. It is precisely the unrealness of the violence, sex, and other behavior in Female Trouble that makes it bearable, because it's not about the real world in an exact sense. Or if it is, it's a sort of caricature of it. It could be that Rabbit Test could be understood the same way. I'm not sure. They tickle me in similar ways.

I don't think it's possible for anybody to review all movies, because they're so diverse. They show all personality types and such a great variety of situations, so inevitably someone will have a bias against any movie.

I supppose there are some thoroughly "bad" movies: the movies of Ed Wood strike me as candidates. But if a movie is entertaining to somebody, it can't be all bad.

I just watched this movie, and despite my strong hatred for Joan Rivers, I enjoyed it.

Johnny Carson 1925-2005. We will never forget you.

I've never seen this film, and I'm probably never going to, but I have to say I laughed just reading tgemberl's description of the religious-friend-getting-hit-by-hundreds-of-bullets-but-none-of-them-hitting-his-pocket-bible joke.

I didn't see this movie, but if it is worse than The Animal(which had a few laughs til the end then it was just too stupid for words) and Master of Disguise, then it sure did tank. Someone mentioned this movie as a joke on another message board, so I thought I would check it out. So far it is not on my Christmas list of DVDs I want.

Uhhh... No you don't. This film is so bad, you can't even learn from it's mistakes. At least a film like Ishtar will demonstrate its own fatal flaws (two good actors playing two bad actors and you can't tell them apart... a tug of war between three egos with 35mm acetate used for a rope... etc.); Rabbit Test puts a couple talking heads up in front of a 4 x 8 sheet of foam-core and calls itself a feature film. Do yourself a favor and watch absolutely anything else. Renting Rabbit Test is just perpetuating a crime committed 30 years ago.

I love Joan Rivers, but yeah, this movie is awful. You'd think Joan could have offered something with a few laughs. This is just an unfortunate mess.

It's unfortunate for all involved, but Joan Rivers deserves the brunt of the blame. I'm a great connoisseur of bad films and even have a tendency to rate many of them highly based on entertainment value, but that's not the case here. This film is almost depressingly bad, which is not entertaining in the least.

I absolutely agree. Rabbit Test, and Junior in fact, is one of my favourite films ever. What I love about Rabbit Test is that it tried. It tried so hard to be good, but failed on every level. But it might just be my obsession with mpreg talking :P

I usually never walk out of a movie. I figure I will give it a chance to get better. But this is the only one I ever walked out on. I felt cheated that, with such a great cast, this should have been much much better. Truly, an awful movie.

I found the entire film on YouTube, could only get through some of it. It was incredibly boring...all bad one-liners!! 🐶
