what a sweet, smart crazy little film.

(possibly spoilers)

i loved this film. i want to see more blier films. i can't say whether or not i love it more then "going places" but i was really impressed with how depardieu and delaware have such great chemistry playing such different characters in both of those films. i loved the scene where they pontificate about mozart and talk about giving their girl to him as a gift if he was alive. this film would never win an oscar nowadays cause of the some of the sexual themes in the film i don't think (though no where as near as extreme as "going places"). the end was really something.

Actually although not as extreme as Going Places I think the ending would not pass these days - the kid is 13!
The boys have great chemistry in this one in particular. I like the bit where they ask which one of them is to sleep with her and she says neither...just priceless.....
However, still personally prefer Les Valseuses (Going Places)

Indeed one of the wittiest, most original and hilarious films I´ve seen in a long time; having seen this, Les Valseuses & Buffet Froid, Blier´s brand of absurdity and outrage is yet to fail me. And just like with Claude Chabrol, I´m quite at loss as to why he´s so little known - surely, the cinema of these two guys is way more accomplished & inspired than, for instance, Godard´s dry, pedantic exercises in intellectualism.

This is a witty and moving film which simply would not be greenlighted today - even in France, most likely. Anyone who has seen it knows why.
