After her Oscar nominated turn in Taxi Driver, Jodie Foster was the first choice for the lead role (the part eventually going to Brooke Shields), but declined due to her commitment with Walt Disney Pictures, because she was starring in Candleshoe (1977). We would have seen Jodie nude at 15.

Goddammit! Movie-wise, I don't think anything could be more disappointing than learning this tidbit.
