COMEDY?????
I'm pretty sure this was never a comedy or a spoof of any kind. Why does IMDB say it is?

shareYou didn't find it funny? Do you think it should be horror?
shareMost horror films also qualify as comedy. No it was not a spoof, but I laughed quite hard for most of the film!
shareI never found it funny. I can't exactly call it scary either, though.
shareThis post made me think. I believe more genres should be added to films, like they do in the music industry. I haven't seen this one yet, I'm going to in about 3 minutes but if it's anything like I read on IMDb then it shouldn't be called a horror nor a comedy film. How about... Hormedy?
EDIT: I've just googled hormedy, 7 matches... seems like I'm not alone here :D

I find this way too gory to be considered funny. But the plot IS ridiculous

I think what they meant by comedy is that there is a lot of inside jokes to other horror films from over the years.
shareI've heard it called a spoof too, and I don't like that term for this movie. The give and take between Menzies and Dillman IS funny, as are Dick Miller and Paul Bartel. And what about the dialogue, "What about the piranha?" "Uh, they're eating the guests sir." That's funny. It's a horror movie with funny stuff in it, like a lot of good horror movies (Jaws, An American Werewolf in London, Halloween, Evil Dead, Return of the Living Dead, Scream, etc.) Tongue-in-cheek is the right term for this movie.
