Worst Movie of all time?

This movie is possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I am a fan of foreign films, but I found this to be just plain awful. The quality was that of a High School theater presentation.

Have you seen Norbit? Hannibal Rising? Good Luck Chuck? Hell, any one of the 80 or 90% goddamn awful Hollywood movies?

This film is very unique, as you say perhaps not unlike a high school theater presentation, and that was exactly how it was designed. It's criminal enough that it is not more widely known and appreciated, than the fact that unappreciative people like yourself feel the need to bag it.

Film is very much in the eye of the beholder, and not everyone will (or should be expected to) enjoy this, but a comment such as yours is very offensive.

The worst movie of all times in Rohmer's little-seen LE BLUMPQUINE.

What are those "foreign films" you talk about?

Do you consider that Japanese or Chinese art is necessarily inferior or incompetant because it doesn't use the same perspective system common in Western art? Do you complain at a Shakespeare play because people don't 'really' talk in verse? Rohmer has deliberately evoked the style of medieval miniature painting. One might not like what he's done but pretty obviously a director who can make films like 'Ma Nuit chez Maud' or 'Le Bon Marriage' isn't lacking in technical skills or the ability to get fine performances from actors.
Cinema, for a number of reasons has tended towards a kind of photographic illusionism. It should not be regarded as the only criterion of excellence any more than in art or theatre. To be honest Perceval is a film, like some of those of Godard and Bresson, which is likely to provoke fairly extreme reactions. I love it dearly but, even if I didn't, I'd still prefer to risk being bored, angered or irritated by a film trying to achieve something different than suffer through something predictable and formulaic.
