Does anyone know if this is available anywhere on DVD?
Obviously I'm keen for a version that is either dubbed in English or has English subtitles ...

At Czech republic DVD was released (try this: http://www1.vltava.cz/Store/GoodsDetail.asp?sCGoodsID=SE01031864&sAlliance=csfd), but I don´t think it has english subtitles ...

Count Duckula, heh heh heh ...

There is a DVD with English subtitles, available at www.bontonland.cz. By the way, can anyone tell me about the artwork in the titles sequence? Is it originally made for the film, or is this perhaps filmed at some location in Czech Republic? I would be really glad to know about this, thank you very much!

That's all well and good, but I don't speak Czech, so I have no idea how to navigate myself around the bontonland site in order to order the DVD. What do I do???

Search for a translator, or download a divx: I've got two, one of which features english subtitles.

The artwork in the titles sequence was painted by czech ...hum, let's say... surrealist painter and film poster designer Josef Vyleťal or Vyletal (* 18. 6. 1940 Brno, + 3. 2. 1989 Prague).

I recently picked up a copy off of dvdbest.sk for about 4 USD. You'll need a PAL-converting DVD player, but it's very worth the trouble for this and many other films that aren't really available out here.

Well, for the most part, I hate watching features on a computer monitor in ten min segments.
Secondly, is it a subtitled version?

Yes it has subtitles, I will only search for the DVD if youtube removed the entire movie which if they did I would not be so happy. Because I love this movie, I also love the music, it is just so beautiful.

DVD, for cheap, with English subtitles, can be found here: cdmusic.cz

They ship to the US, Canada and Europe (and elsewhere? I've never tried). I get most of my Czech movies from them.
