Not bad at all!

Some of the scripting feels a bit a contrived and the plotting can be a little convenient. This is though, in its own way, a touching and brave film.

It does help if you loved 'Love Story', but how could you not?

The whole script seems to be a random collection of random events in O'Neal's life. He meets one girl, he meets another, and yeah... it's all so very contrived and convenient. The plot doesn't flow well at all, seems to be a story about nothing, none of the new characters are good, none of the performances stand out that much and technically speaking it's quite disappointing as well. If the first was close to being a masterpiece (where even the technical qualities seemed to add something to the characters themselves) this one is just quite an average sequel with hardly any good thing to say about.

I still really like it, though. But then again, my subjective taste in film is pretty much weird. I like every single romantic film I watch.

With all due respect for differences of opinion... After watching Ryan O'Neal's performance in this powerful argument for euthanasia, the thought that kept going through my mind was, how did Lee Majors NOT know that O'Neal was shagging Farrah?

Obviously a minority opinion, as it was a popular movie well into the 70's.

Personally, I lamented the choice of Ali McGraw as Jenny, but hey.
