Dvd?

I used to own this classic movie on VHS Video. They really need to release it on Dvd. Anyone got any leads?

I was a little disappointed with all the negative feedback I was reading for this movie. It's one of the movies that stuck with me for the last 30 years and I hate to think I won't like it when I finally find it. I think if you really get right down to it, you can pick apart damn near any movie you take a good hard look at. I like to take most movies for what they are...entertainment. And if a movie stuck in my head for 30 years, it must have been at least somewhat entertaining to me, even if I was only just a kid at the time. I don't really care about black vikings or sandy beaches, horns on helmets or a viking with a 70's moustache, and if bad acting is a crime, half the movies that make it to the box office out to be outlawed. Very few movies are historically accurate (even the ones that are supposed to be) and I always thought fiction was...well, just that...fiction...and I don't think "The Norsemen" was supposed to be anyone'c claim to history, so with all that said, I'm fairly optimistic that I will actually like to see it again someday. So I'm with you, JB. I'd like to get it on DVD, right along with about a dozen or so other movies from my childhood that I have yet to see released. Anyone got any leads???

I liked this movie as a teen. I can see how it'd be laughably bad now but at the time I liked it. Everything should be in context. I'd be glad to get it on DVD if it was in letterbox and not pan and scan.

But yeah, all the hate seems out of place. I mean, it is not Lawrence of Arabia but it wasn't intended to be.

Why settle for the lesser of two evils? Vote Cthulhu!

Shout! Factory are releasing this film on DVD on a double bill with the 1987 Italian movie "The Barbarians" on August 27.

I bought the DVD double feature on Saturday. I can watch it and get back to you on picture & sound quality etc. I know it's in widescreen (unlike "The Barbarians", which is shown in full screen).

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

Thanks, Sweden. That would be awesome of you. Hope you enjoy the movie.

"The Norseman" was hilarious at times. Such a silly, silly movie. Gotta love that casting mix.

The widescreen presentation is quite nice, especially the picture. No extras of any kind, though.
