Who has A Brother Who Will Lend You His Year Old Lincoln Continental...

To bring back to school?

Very Trusting older brother.

Few others had cars. Think none of fellow Deltas had them.

Some schools don't allow Freshmen to have cars on campus.

How does one talk a family member into lending an 18 yo freshman an almost new Lincoln to borrow for school?

I would like to have heard that conversation!!

Maybe Flounder used his knowledge of Fred being a "closet case" to convince him to let him use the car.

Flounder wasn't that smart. Besides, he might have been in denial about Fred. Remember his reaction when the other Deltas told him about that?

My college didn't give parking permits to Freshmen. So I went to the parking services office and whined about how I needed my car for my job, and they handed me a permit. Ha-ha, I didn't have no job!

It's like Otter said, "You *beep* up, you trusted us." I think the same could be said for Fred Foreman.

Not many guys just three years out of college can afford a Lincoln. And of the tiny number that can and have one, darn few would lend it to their younger brother for several days. Still, it COULD happen...maybe Flounder won a bet with Fred and his using the car for a week was the payoff.

Additionally, how many overweight/nerdy dudes like Flounder have a dish of a girlfriend like he did? Maybe the writers gave Flounder that babe so the audience wouldn't feel too sorry for him, the way he was always picked on and all.

BTW: The actress that played his girlfriend was an actual coed at the University of Oregon, where they filmed the movie.
