Does any one know where the beach house is located?

I just recently discovered this movie and was sort of skeptical after seeing that lily tomlin was the female lead role on this. I'm use to seeing her only in comedies. Anyway I loooooooooove this movie. I think if people gave it a chance they would enjoy it. Love the whole movie. Especially the beach location and the house. If anybody can help me with information on where exactly in California is this house located?

Hey, you seem to feel about this movie the way I did when I first saw it! Nice! Glad I'm not the only one.

As for your question, wish I could help you, but I was actually wondering the same thing! When I first saw the movie, I said that the house and the beach were the real stars and that the movie was good, for that if nothing else. And, I had people teasing me and telling me that scenery doesn't make a movie good. But, those of us who are highly visual know that they are wrong! And, when I first saw that house, I wanted to buy it! Provided that the beach-waves didn't eventually knock it down, of course!

I am the movies I love! (^_^)

He he, I too would like to buy that house! The beach and the house make this film more intimate, like lily, john , the house and the beach is the only thing that matters and you get into the movie so much that you wish you where there and that you were the characters falling in love. (obsessed much, he, he). Anyway they will be showing the movie this month on cinemax check your local listings.

I'm sure it's not the same one, but an old Monticeto beach home was showcased on "Flipping Out" this week, and it looked very similar. However Monticeto is a distance from LA...

It's a cute beach house, but, you can't help but notice how close the other houses are. It's not very private. The houses are just about on top of each other. You could look into the neighbors window and see what they are having for dinner!

All of the Southern CA coast is like that - especially Malibu.

Actually, the house on "Flipping Out" has almost the exactly same layout, and surrounding terrain, as the home in the film. (Film interiors were obviously a studio set.)
