I connected with this movie, and I liked it. I didn't know that it got such bad press or criticism. One scene that stands out in my memory was when Tomlin's character fails to acknowledge Travolta's character bringing in the groceries, and the reaction of hurt Travolta displayed.

It's a very odd pairing of stars, for sure! Lily Tomlin was so great in Nashville, I believed every minute of her romantic interlude with the gorgeous Keith Carradine.
But Travolta? Not so much.
This film was directed by Jane Wagner who is Lily's wife to this day. Gay woman stars with maybe gay man, not much chemistry there.
