Turkish people are animals.

Good thing I watched this movie. I won't be going to Turkey any time soon.

You are judging the entire Turkish population, based on people in a fucking prison. Yeah, this one was a troll.

I know the movie very well, watched it when it first came out in 1978 and many times since.

Its a massively distorted representation of the Turkish people. Even considering its set in a prison, which you would expect to show the worst of society.

But even taking that into consideration, this was massively exaggerated, and the director and filmakers have since apologised to Turkish population .

In a curious way, its the sheer visceral quality of the movie and the performances, especially from Brad Davis, John Hurt and Randy Quaid that make the movie what it is. Its a gruelling and harrowing movie to watch, but it is heavily xenophobic in its representation of the Turkish people as a race.

I knew a Turkish woman once. She turned out to be a sociopath, but I'm not condemning all Turks just because of one narcissistic bitch.

Judging Turkey based on "Midnight Express" is as rational as judging the U.S. based on the brutality in "The Shawshank Redemption".

Prison sucks. Don't commit felonies and there's an extremely high probability you'll never have to deal with it.
