Richard Burton has the greatest voice ever

Fantastic, holds your attention, keeps your gaze

Absolutely agree with you. The Medusa Touch is a very underrated film and I think that Richard Burton puts in a magnificent performance.

Scared the hell out of me when I was a kid, and I loved 'Broadsword calling Danny Boy' from the first time I ever heard it.

I agree, this was a case of perfect casting. Burton's voice added so much menace to this that it scared the hell out of me as a kid too. As an adult, it's still creepy.
I liked the inspector and the choice of the sweet looking Lee Remick as the psychiatrist.
All around good casting and a highly underrated film. This movie was made back when scary movies weren't slash, gash and dice, but actually had enough of a story to support suspense.
I wish this was on DVD for region 1!!!!!!!!!

Still sounds like the same guy who did practically every voiceover in the UK in the 70s is doing the voice for Lino Ventura, LOL

Yes, Burton's voice is great, the way his pronunciation of each phrase can change instantly to convey the sudden changes of emotion running through the character's mind.

Yeah, the acting is good overall and the special effects respectable for that time, but it's Richard Burton who sells the movie, his intensity, his voice, the look in his eyes when he's about to cause someone's death.

I agree as a fellow Cymro (Welshman) I wish I had a voice like his. I also love the voice of Rod Serling from the Twilight Zone. Both deep rich voices. 'You are entering another dimension.'

Burton, Rickman, Irons, Allam, Curry, Reed, Mcshane... So many good British voices that could be seducing a woman one minute and stabbings her in the back the next.

the only film film of my great uncles I wasn't allowed to watch as a kid... Well the exorcist 2 aswell but the less said about that the better! Ha!

My dad said uncle rich always wanted to play a Bond villain but never got the chance! He was good friends with Roger Moore and always wanted to be a villain against his bond!

C'mon guys, where's the love for Jeremy Brett?!?!

I agree with all of you regarding Burton's voice, but for decades I've been saying that Jeremy Brett has one of the best speaking voices in movies, and when I saw him facing off against Richard Burton in this film, my friend and I just looked at each other and laughed. It was so surreal seeing two of the film industry's greatest voices sparring together in the same scene.

So no one here rates Jeremy Brett in the voices department??! Sherlock Holmes, anyone?! The man made Sherlock Holmes come alive like no other actor before or since!
