Do you think it's weird the main character is named Glen Manning, which also the name of the Amazing Collosual Man?

I often wondered if there was supposed to be a connection betwen "The Lucifer Complex" and the two films "The Amazing Colossal Man" and "War of the Colossal Beast", but I figure it is more likely that one of the writers was just a fan of the Colossal films, and let this name in as a fun reference.
