Neil Young - Helpless - Great!

Man, I can't keep from grinning so big when I watch this! Taped it on DVR. Especially when he moves from the solo mic to the one Robertson and Danko are using. Powerful! And Joni Mitchell singing backup vocalizing. Wow!

I've always liked Neil Young, and I think this is the best live performance I've seen. Actually though, I haven't seen very much of him on video at all. I'll have to check out YouTube.

Hey man, I totally agree, Neil was superb here. You should check out the live version of Old Man on Youtube, and Hey Hey My My from Farm Aid, they're both breathtaking.

It's funny, I've always heard that Young was out of his mind on cocaine for the concert, but having seen the dvd today, I was really floored.

thanks, man! I just watched Old Man on YouTube. Gave me chills! What a voice!!!

Check out the dvd "Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps"

I rank it almost as high as The Last Waltz.

Just drivin aroundddd, in Jon Voight's carrrr.

All great recommendations. I would add my favorite Neil moment which you can see on youtube, is the live version of "Comes A Time" from the 1986 Farm AID. He is joined on stage by Nicolette Larson.

You can actually see traces of coke in Young's nose when they close in on him for the song, confirming that he was indeed high. Many years later Young actually said he felt ashamed that people could see that.

They edited the coke boogers out for the DVD release but they're there in all their glory for the Blu Ray, lol.
