I think Coppola's Marie-Antoinette looks like a lot to the M-A in Lady Oscar (the anime version)!! She got the same style!!
Isn't that just a matter of the historical setting?
I think there's more of a correlation here... Rose of Versailles to Anime San Jushi: 3 Musketeers' Aramis being a woman in drag to Revolutionary Girl Utena to the Canadian Musketeers show Young Blades which has a woman posing as a man.
