I've also looked everywhere for this film on DVD, ..I can't even get in in my hometown at the local video-stores on VHS, ...nothing. I caught it on TV about a decade ago - and never forgot it, ..I absolutely loved the whole look & feel of the film.

It might be up to someone here to get it on VHS and have it coverted to digital media.

As part of the waves of older movies being released/re-released on DVD and Blu-Ray, KING OF THE GYPSIES has recently hit the shelves, (eBay and Amazon too).

It has been a couple of years since I bought a DVD copy, but now there is another release in both DVD and Blu-Ray (seperate items, no combo package as far as I have seen).

Generally speaking, a release like this is a good thing. However, older movies like this were originally released in the "full frame" (1.33:1), and typically suffer some form of "pan-and-scan" similar to the original VHS releases that were "formatted to fit your TV". With these movies, if they were filmed in full-frame format, the 16:9 and/or anamorphic widescreen versions lose some of the image from the top/bottom of the frames. I mention this so prospective purchasers can manage their expectations, including the sound format probably originally being stereo, so don't expect 5.1 audio...

The DVD release I already had was a nice transfer, so these should be pretty good as well.
I hope someone buying the Blu-Ray version will comment here on its quality, and any added features, or lack of extras.

Enjoy!
