Is it true?

I've heard Gene Simmons said that there will never be another Kiss album, because he's disappointed by the current discographic industry situation. Is it true? Can someone tell me something about it? Thank you.

reply

Gene has said time and time again that there WILL NEVER be a new KISS album...

Probably true..and it's not a bad thing really.
given KISS's last studio album Psycho Circus was more forced out than a constipated turd. No one wanted to do it but it had to be done.
Gene's too busy pimpin' out KISS's last shred of dignity. I love KISS I have fond memories of seeing the OG KISS in '77 and '79 and beyond and comic books, mags, posters and other stuff in their 70's heyday were alright. Now coffins, condoms, coffee, cologne.... G$ is too busy making MONEY not the other 5 letter word...MUSIC. in 10 years time Gene's gonna have multiple KISS groups touring the world just like Blue Man Group has now. He pretty much said that KISS will go on even without him or Paul in the group

How many "KISS fans" will still defend what Gene does then?

Gene has actually siad that that will NEVER happen. It wouldn't be KISS without Gene and Paul. I will always defend what Gene does... Though a KISS w/out the two integral members is not one of them, simply because that's all a lie some idiot made up.

I don't doubt your loyalty jkamps84-1, but some syndicated rock radio show did a lengthy interview with Paul Stanley in early January of this year. During the interview he spoke about being in the process of recording a new solo album and how he was in no rush to put it out. Also how he was pretty much content to just putter about his house, paint, and occasionally work on a music track.

When asked about "the next Kiss album", Paul just chuckled and said there were no plans of any kind, and then he floored me by saying he could forsee a time when someone else could wear the "starchild" makeup & do the singing instead of him!! The interviewer was shocked but Paul clarified by saying how the band could continue with "newer" members wearing the makeup.

Disturbing? Sure. But consider how they used to resist putting the makeup back on til the original members reunited, did the tour, & raised oodles of money. Then Ace & Peter each quit in turn & the other 2 decide to continue raking in the dough by simply getting substitutes instead of taking the more honorable option of simply putting the makeup to rest once more.

Actually they are coming out with a new album. I saw an interview with Paul on his paintings and he said that they were getting ready to release their newest album in 10 years. If I remember right he said that it was coming out in the Spring of '09.

I know this is an older thread, but wanted to keep it alive.

KISS released "Sonic Boom" in 2009.

"Monster" is the upcoming 20th studio album from KISS, set to be released in June/July 2012. The album's title was confirmed by Kissonline.com on August 21, 2011 to be "Monster". The album was recorded at Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood, CA and produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins, as was 2009's "Sonic Boom".

It was tough for veteran acts to sell albums of new material even before the music business went down the toilet. KISS had reached a point where it seemed every other album was a compilation. And many of the albums they did sell were from their catalog, not the new material.
