Soundtrack?

Years ago I remember there was a soundtrack album (back in the vinyl days) available for this through Starlog/Fangoria. It was supposed to be Bernard Herman's last score (or something like that). I've always wanted to hear it. Anyone know if it' available any where? (If I just watch the film the score won't really stand out as it does on a soundtrack lp listening).

Thanks!

It shows up now and again on eBay. What might be throwing you off is that the name on the soundtrack album is "It's Alive 2", with no mention of "It Lives Again." It can appeal to horror movie buffs, Bernard Herrmann fans, and quadraphonic record freaks (as one of the few soundtrack albums ever released in quad).

Hi

Thanks for the response. What I meant (and realize I never mentioned in my original posting) was, has the soundtrack ever been made available on CD? I know the lp exists, but was it ever available on CD?

Thanks!

reply

Yes, it was - on Silva Screen Records.

For details see this page on the great site, Soundtrack Collector:

As to availability at this time, I could not say. Good luck in tracking it down.

The original It's Alive! score by Bernard Herrmann was released last year on CD and is easier to get a hold of. As Herrmann had died in 1975, the music for It Lives Again was actually adapted from this by his friend, composer Laurie Johnson. Again see here:
