The dog ? (Spoilers I guess)

So what's with the freakin uber creepy dog that was like wearing a man's face???? That was freaking creepy as hell.! I guess it was to scare the real humans by showing their emotions or something? That scene was actually one of the few things I liked about the movie.

I thought it was a combination of the homeless banjo player and his dog. The pod got them both and apparently fused them.

Yeah it's them, because remember the homeless guys pod got kicked in the head and blood ran out it, so it must have just mixed in with the dog.

reply

Oh yes, I guess you were both right.

reply

Yeah, Matthew kicking the banjo player's pod happens pretty fast, so it's easy to miss, but it's there.

Ah, I wasn't shocked by it, not just becuase I have seen my more than fair amount of horror movies, but before watching this movie, I was watching 'Dreams in the witchhouse' by Lovecraft in 'Masters of horror' which had a freaky mouse with a mans face.

My friend let me borrow his copy of this movie for viewing and during that scene I actually thought the dog was a hacked edit of the movie file. Like someone inserting an unrelated troll animation into a movie scene and then uploading it onto youtube for instance. I was kinda freaked out and mad about it because I didn't think it really belonged in the scene, then I found out it was a legitimate part of the movie and laughed at how silly it was.

The one character mentions how they recombine dna. She was guessing but spot on.

Its like Cronenbergs "The Fly" there were two objects, man and dog huddling together for warmth, so like BrundleFly the two were spliced together. Though its a funny joke that what happened to Seth Brundle occured in his telePOD

That part was creepy! I didn't get that scene. How did the dog have a human's face?
