"Webs hit Bay area" in the Chronicle headlines. Wouldn't any of this scare the bejesus out of scientists in the area, a totally new phenomena? At least it might offer a clue to suspicious people in the rest of the country once the pod infection starts to push east and they start investigating its source.
shareThis is why I assumed the rest of the country had yet to be taken over, maybe over a period of weeks or several months. I still think there's room for a possible follow up to the 1978 version, but it would be more fitting, if the aliens win, or its left to a viewer's interpretation as to if the invasion has taken over completely.

The extraordinary event is reported in the media, but no one actually seems all that perturbed about it. Matthew presumably puts it in his scrap book, but received no orders to investigate.🐭 share
