Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Body Snatchers (1993) The Invasion (2007)
Rate them from your favorite to least favorite. I loved them all but 78 version had a slight edge over the 1956 version just because the dismal ending but I LOVED 56 version especially Kevin McCarthy & Dana Wynter, the 93 version is underrated in my book. Forest Whitaker & Meg Tilly were excellent. How would you rate them?

I agree it would be great. Just looking back at the 78 version, I could see Natalie Portman playing Brooke Adams' role. Another remake would be great, I'd love to see another one.

1. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978): I saw this in the theater when I was 11 years old and it scared the crap out of me. I have since watched it numerous times on TV, and for sheer paranoid terror it cannot be beat.
2. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956): Having seen the 1978 version first, for me the original doesn't match the later film in terms of horror. It is also viewed out of the political context of its original release in the 1950s, which might have made it a different experience altogether.
The other two can't really hold a candle to these two, but I rate them as:
I like the original because of it's positive ending. But, I like the 1978 version because of it's Sounds. The ultra sound effect for the alien birth/transformation and the pig squeal for the alien scream. I haven't seen the 1993 version in probably; well since 1993! I never saw Invasion. If they were to ever make a sequel to this tale, they should have it set in months, possibly a years time since the initial invasion. Where there is perhaps a fort with the remaining humans there; and maybe there are a few people who know (or is rumored) that this fort exists and the story deals with them trying to get to said fort. Or, it can be more than a fort; it can be an actual state or small country.
